Plot[]
Part 1[]
Nobody ever asks Michael for anything: when Wendy needs help she asks John and when John needs help, he asks Wendy… and when Mrs. Darling needs something from her children, she asks her two eldest children! It’s as if Michael doesn’t know how to do anything. He’s tired of feeling useless… but he can’t seem to think of anything that he does better than his older siblings (and that really irritates him). Peter happens to drop by just at that moment. Noticing that Michael is sulking, he suggests that they forget all about it for a few hours, and take a quick trip to Neverland. Nobody there cares about being useful or not! And off they go to the Imaginary Land.
Meanwhile in Neverland’s jungle, the pirates, led by Hook have just gotten their dirty hands on a stone, engraved with ancient signs. Hook seems overjoyed by this discovery: this must be the key to finding a great treasure that will lead him to a final victory over Peter Pan. The stone even shows a map, indicating the entrance to a cave... Sienna – who happens to be lurking nearby– can’t resist the temptation. She snatches the stone from Hook and takes off. Hook fumes: he swears he won’t rest ‘til he gets his hand or hook on that stone again…
Sienna goes to the Imaginary tree to try to decipher the stone… but she finds she’s incapable of figuring it out. Luckily, the Darlings have just arrived with Peter: they’ll certainly be able to help her. Michael is the first to propose his help to Sienna… but she decides that he’s a bit too little, this is a job for John! Michael sulks even more, as John opens the Great Book of Neverland to translate the signs on the stone. He discovers that they tell of a very old prophesy: Neverland was created by Imagination, and it had taken magic, lots of magic to make it come alive, and many ups and downs to turn it into the haven of peace we know today. For many long years ago, before Peter and Hook, before the Lost children – the overflow of too much magic made the land a chaotic place, with no rules or logic; dominated by a strange creature – Barrum – who played with Neverland as if it were a giant toy rattle. The Ancient Ones, first inhabitants of Neverland – threatened by Barrum’s folly – found a way to imprison him inside a conch shell that they buried deep in the belly of Neverland. And the Imaginary Land finally became the little corner of Paradise (albeit with its reasonable share of problems) that it is today.
Hook grabs the conch, holds it up with a cry of victory and calls out to Barrum to wake him.
Part 2[]
All is lost… or would be, if anything happened- but nothing does! It’s not the right one either: our heroes look at each other in confusion!. Meanwhile, Michael has been sulking in a tiny alcove just off the big room. Suddenly a shimmering light, coming from the wall, attracts his attention. He discovers… yet another conch shell, hidden behind a boulder, shining brilliantly. He picks it up tentatively, whispering: « Barrum? ». A terrible roar echoes through the cave followed by a blinding explosion of light, which dazzles the other group in the big room. When each of them opens his eyes … Michael appears, triumphantly holding the magic conch in his hands. Hook rushes over to try to grab it, but a huge jolly creature suddenly appears, barring his way: it’s Barrum! The jovial creature turns to Michael and tells him he is at his service: his every command will be obeyed! Michael asks immediately for the pirates to disappear. No sooner said than done… Barrum points at Hook and Smee, and they disappear into thin air. Once the shock has passed, Michael is celebrated as a hero. He is of course very proud of himself.
Sienna – always the little thief – tries to slip the conch out of his hands… but is repelled by burst of magic: just as the prophesy said, only Michael can now touch the conch, no one can take it from him! He can ask anything he wants from Barrum… and if anyone else wants something, they must first ask Michael. Of course the little boy is thrilled: he’s finally become indispensable! Sienna immediately asks to be covered in gold. Michael in turn asks Barrum, who obeys immediately… and Sienna finds herself crushed under a huge nugget of gold (she is unhurt, but it takes a few moments to drag her out from under there). Okaaaay, one must be careful what one wishes for, apparently: Barrum, who is something of a wise guy, has a tendency to interpret wishes in a joking manner.
Part 3[]
Peter, Wendy and John are still pursuing Asbjörn and Dagan who are carrying off Michael. Peter flies hastily after them. The pirates are almost at the point of giving up … when Peter suddenly crashes to the ground: he can’t fly anymore! What is going on? He gets up and marches with a determined air towards the pirates… but suddenly disappears. Wendy and John are aghast. Asbjörn and Dagan – surprised but relieved – take off towards the Jolly Roger with Michael. Wendy and John come back to their senses, and rush to follow, all the while desperately hoping that nothing serious has happened to Peter…
… At that same moment, Peter reappears before the triumphant Hook: the captain had ordered Barrum to take away all Peter’s powers and bring him before him. He challenges Peter to a one-on-one duel… but cheatingly uses Barrum’s powers to every advantage: he creates a double of himself, he forces Peter to dance a jig, he transforms Peter’s sword into a sausage... he plays terrible tricks on poor Peter, who somehow manages to get out of every tight spot with amazing courage and agility. But how long will he be able to hang on?
