The Great Chumbalaya

The Great Chumbalaya is the thirteen episode of the second season of the TV series and fortieth episode of the full series overall.

Plot[]

In London, Michael has been unbearable since he started doing everything that Walter, his older (and quite stupid) cousin, tells him to do. Wendy and John are fed up and quite happy when Peter comes to get them; going to see other friends should help their brother forget about Walter.

But once they get to Neverland, the Lost Kids have disappeared! And the Native Tribe too! And when they run to the Jolly Roger, convinced the pirates are up to something… They discover that the ship is completely empty too… Empty but for Mr. Smee, hiding in a barrel and scared to death, who tells them how they were attacked by giant monsters. Except that he didn’t really see them… But who other than a giant monster could defeat their brilliant crew!

So the Darlings and Peter have to follow the tracks of whoever attacked the Jolly Roger… Which lead them straight to… The Temple of the Chumbas! Everyone is surprised. Ever since the Chumbas govern themselves, they have been very nice. But when they enter the temple, they discover that the Chumbas have a new ruler: Loki! He has evidently escaped from his chest and, after taking control of the Chumbas, had them kidnap everyone in Neverland. Our heroes attack to take back the egg… Except Loki has done BETTER than just stealing the egg; he has pretended to come out of it and be their Messiah, the Great Chumbalaya! He even has the audacity to tell Wendy he has hidden the egg in the magic chest he escaped from… And then tossed it into the Mermaid Lagoon. No one will ever get their hands on it again.

Forced into a corner by the Chumbas, our heroes manage to escape thanks to a little Chumba named Boody who, torn between his instinct to obey and his desire not to obey the orders of an evil tyrant, manages to help them anyway.

Thanks to him, they will avoid the Chumbas’ blitz attacks and traps to reach the Mermaid Lagoon where they have to be very creative to recover the chest… Without getting wet!
