Ravello is one of the characters in Peter Pan in Scarlet, who accompanies the main characters on their journey.
History[]
“All that emerged was this…this SOFTNESS of a man! A thing like a sponge. A thing like a dead thing.” ~ Ravello, Peter Pan in Scarlet, Geraldine McCaughrean
The Mysterious Ravello was allowed to join Peter and the others after his circus was burned down by a fire
He is eventually revealed to be Captain Hook's alter ego after being broken down in the Crocodile's stomach.
Captain Hook survived being swallowed by the crocodile, and spent a long time in extreme torment, until his bottle of poison (the same used to try and kill Peter Pan) broke, and killed the crocodile.
He worked his way out, a changed man, having lost all of his cruelty and being scarred beyond recognition and incapable of sleep. He survived by eating the eggs of the crocodile, and at some point, became the owner of a circus in Neverland
Eventually, Peter and the others ran into him, at which point he began manipulating Peter, turning him into a child version of Captain Hook. He also caused many of the boys to grow up simply by making them decide what they want to be when they do so.
Eventually, when the group reached the chest that granted one's wishes, he revealed who he really was, and a battle ensued.
Eventually, Wendy helped him to fall asleep, after which he awoke being turned back into Captain Hook.
Appearance[]

Captain Hook was deformed by the crocodile's stomach acid beyond recognition, as none of the other characters recognized him. His clothes are torn and unravelled (as his name implied) and cover most of his body.
Personality[]
Unlike Captain Hook, he is gentle and kind. His voice is described as being very sweet, enough so to cause some bears to mistakenly believe there to be honey in the area simply because of the sound of it.
However, while Captain Hook often uses fear and force to get his way, Ravello uses his deceptive kindness and flattery to manipulate those around him.
He dislikes no longer being Captain Hook.
Abilities[]
- He is able to cause children (and even animals) to grow up simply by taking their hand and asking them what they want to be when they grow up, or suggesting something they'd like to be when they grow up to them that they like. A piece of his clothing then sticks to them, and they begin growing up.
- He claims this is because children begin growing up as soon as they decide what they want to be.
- He is skilled with animals as a circus owner.
- He is a master of manipulation.
