The Lost Boys are Peter Pan's companions in Neverland, and he is their leader. As pre-teen boys lacking any adult supervision, they are often ill-behaved, and enjoy the freedom their wild lifestyle offers, but usually have a hidden (or not so hidden) desire for a "mother" (even when they don't know exactly what one is). The Lost Boys are widely known for their animal pajamas/costumes, as seen in 1953 Disney Adaption.

Original Lost Boys

• Tootles is described as the most unfortunate and humblest of the band, because "the big things" and adventures happen while "he has stepped round the corner". This however has not soured but sweetened his nature. He is the one who shoots Wendy Darling with a bow and arrow after Tinker Bell tells them Wendy is a bird that Peter wants killed. When Tootles realizes his mistake, he asks Peter to kill him. Wendy however survives, and Tootles is spared. Though he is clumsy and silly, Tootles is the first to defend Wendy when she wants to return to London. When Peter takes possession of "The Jolly Roger", Captain Hook's pirate ship, Tootles takes Smee's place as boatswain. At the end of the novel, he returns to London with Wendy and the other lost boys.

• Nibs is described as happy and debonair, possibly the bravest Lost Boy. The only thing he remembers about his mother is that she always wanted a cheque book and says he would love to give her one - if he knew what it was.

• Slightly is described as the most conceited of the boys, because he believes that he, unlike the others, remembers what life was like before he was "lost." However, most of his "memories" are either based on misunderstandings: for example, he claims to know what his last name is because his pinafore had the words "Slightly Soiled" written on the tag. Slightly is, apparently, a poor make-believer, but he does seem to have a talent for music; he is described as cutting whistles and flutes from the branches of trees and dancing to tunes he creates himself. He grows up to marry and have a family.

• Curly is described by Barrie as "a pickle" (a person who gets into pickles) and has curly hair, hence his name. He isn't very smart but very loveable. Curly is also pretty brave and a little timid but has a kind heart.

• The Twins – First and Second Twin know little about themselves as they are not allowed to because Peter Pan does not know what twins are, and no Lost Boy is allowed to know anything that Peter doesn't.

Starcatcher

In the Starcatchers book series, an earlier group of Lost Boys are presented, that include boys whom Peter Pan knew from St. Norbert's orphanage

• James - Is closer to Peter than any other boy
• Tubby Ted - Because he is always hungry
• Prentiss - A rather new boy at St. Norbert's
• Thomas - Another boy from St. Norbert's

Shelby and the Lost Boy of Misbegot Island

In the first of a planned series Mpeta and the Treasure Hunters/Further Adventures of Mpeta serial this dimensional converse to this tale set on an obverse similarity of Neverland with contrary correspondences of J.M. Barrie's creations, the lost boys here are known as Misbegot Pack are escaped slave children who wound up washing up on the island of Misbegot while trying to get back to their homeland after managing to escape from said slavers. With all six returning back to New York to presumably stay with the Simmons this reality's versions of The Darling Children. Some of those introduced in the first novel are: Halla (Nibs), Danyama (Slightly), Goobee (Curly), Li’l Crit (Tootles) and Kaba & Kobi (Twins).

Nevermor

In the Young Adult series Nevermor set in a corresponding duplicate to Neverland the Lost boys and John Darling renamed Henry here are known as the Wolf Pack and feature mirror versions of the traditional lost boys with a substitute John/Henry rounding them off. Some of them featured are: Nix (Nibs), Sly (Slightly), Finn (Curly), Toss (Tootles), Mach & Mech (Twins) and Henry Fang (John). However over time they lose their agelessness and start growing up so by the next installments they are all in their teens so by the end they're close to adulthood.

Legends Of The Pan

A different set of Lost Boys appear in the first installment of the trilogy Essence of Neverland as per the same idea that there are always new boys coming to the Neverland with many of them begin aging into teenagers after Peter Pan dies. Among them are Robert, Nathan, Danny, Wally and heavy set Johnathan. In the next installment they are all now adults with their own children who look set to be the next generation of Lost Boys.

Everland

In the Young Adult series Everland depicts coexistingly similarish characters to those created by James Matthew Barrie and transplants them to a dystopian steam punk alternated/alternate history Earth, ravaged by war and plague. Here those Lost Boys or Lost Kids, since some are girls are renamed as Scavengers are: Scout (Slightly), Jack (Nibs), Gabs (Tootles), Pickpocket (Curly), Pyro, Cogs, Spade, Justice, Mole, Dozer, Stock and Blade. However since they are not ageless they likely grow up during the story-line.

In Stand Alones

The Only Children

In Gilbert Adair's unauthorized 1987 sequel Peter Pan and the Only Children, there is a different group of Lost Boys, who refer to themselves as the Brotherhood. They are "only children" (i.e. they have no brothers or sisters) who fell from passing ships and now live with Peter underwater; there are twelve in total including:

• Ralph – Peter's second-in-command
• Tom-Tom – Who not only respected but slavishly imitates Peter
• Second Helping – Named for his appetite and size
• Bubbles - Rivals Peter as a musician
• Bee – Short for "Be quiet!", a rare Lost Girl

Neverland

In the 1989 novel Neverland, that is first of the cancelled Neverland Series there are Lost Boys who for various reasons ended up lost and wound up in Neverland, however they only referenced in the follow up installment (so are included in this category) they include:

• Colin– Ran away from his top floor tower block flat after his home was demolished but got lost returning to where his old home once was
• Looter– Expelled from school for truancy and stealing ended up living in an amusement center before he forgot where he lived
• Hardly– Separated from his sister after running away from their abusive father
• Bins– Constantly bullied so ran away from boarding school became lost finding his way back home
• Twins Sam and Eric– Abandoned in Neverland by their father who created them as inspirations for characters in a book

Tigerheart

In this different take to this tale complete with these dimensional opposites of Neverland called Any Place and No Place of Neverland only two Lost Boys still remain: Irregular and Porthos who are presumably parallel counterparts of Slightly and Tootles.

NeverWorld

A different set of boys appear in Peter Pan's NeverWorld, as per the idea that there are always new boys coming to the Neverland. The boys who travel to NeverWorld are:

• Duvitch – Always second in everything.
• Pogocat – A hyperactive, bouncy boy who is all too eager for everything.
• Bricks – A strong, stubborn, large bear of a boy fellow.
• Halfway – Always “halfway” in everything.

In the prequel Peter Pan: Betwixt-and-Between, there are three boys who accompany Peter to Neverland from Kensington Gardens, they are: Jake, Parx and Rubadub

Always Neverland

There are only four boys who appear in Always Neverland as the others have been banished for starting to grow up. Those who remain are: Prank, Button, Dibs and newest Kyle (who has yet to receive his new Neverland name)

Lost: a Never Novella

In this interquel or prequel novella to the 1991 film Hook The character of Rufio comes across an earlier group of Lost Boys with Peter Pan. They are: CrocBait, NoFurs, EyeStubbed and ForWhat

All Darling Children

In this Young Adult or Adult adaption, as well as the original traditional ones there are also others mentioned such as: Patches, Jinx and Rudy.

Forever Neverland

This group of Lost Boys in the novel Forever Neverland took a vote to start including girls as well. The group changes over time, sometimes even having only girls at one point. At the current time they include:

• Friendly – Gentle and kind; the oldest in the group
• George – Serious and quiet;
• Swim – Small and scraggly boy; the youngest of the Lost Boys
• Shoe – Got her name from the only object belonging to her mother she had on her
• Jumper – Always up for mischief (jumping into trouble)
• Rella – Little but fierce girl; questions everything

The Never: A Tale of Peter and the Fae

In this divergent origin to Peter Pan there are several Lost Boys and even girls who come to Neverland. First ones include: Bears, Greens, First Twins and Anne Noodles, later on comes: Littlebug, Quietly, Scot, Sticks and Stinky. Other noted ones include Pockets and Rufio, who might be the same characters from the 1991 motion picture.

Saving Neverland

In this story Saving Neverland; this group of Lost Boys are said to include girls as well as boys. Only three are now left, each one named after vegetables they would've eaten back in our world are: Turnip, Wombok and Pickle.

In Film And Television

Peter Pan no Bouken

Main article: Lost Boys (Peter Pan no Bouken)

In the animated Japanese anime or manga TV show Peter Pan no Bouken the Lost Boys live with Peter Pan together with the Darling children Wendy, Michael and John. However in this version there are only three; Curly who in this version is the youngest and smartest, Slightly and Tootles who is the eldest. Because of this Peter tends to have Curly fill in the role of second in command in his absence, that is normally associated with Nibs

Peter Pan & the Pirates

In the animated TV show Fox's Peter Pan & the Pirates, the Lost Boys live with Peter Pan together with the Darling children Wendy, Michael and John. They wear ragged clothes made from and shaped like various animals unique to each Lost Boy each also wear an animal cap which they hardly ever take off. Unlike other versions, they can fly without the need for fairy dust and almost as well as Peter plus feature biracial set of Twins who are non identical.

Hook

In Spielberg's sequel Hook, there were at least two dozen Lost Boys of various ethnicities living in Neverland, whose clothes suggest that they left various civilizations at different times over the past century. They live in a giant tree on a tall rocky outcropping just offshore of the island.

• Those named among the number are: Group leader Rufio (Dante Basco), he was chosen by Peter Pan to assume role of leader prior to Pan leaving Neverland
• His second in command; Thud Butt (Raushan Hammond) who Peter Pan picks to take Rufio's place
• Ace (Jasen Fisher)
• Latchboy (Alex Zuckerman)
• No Nap (Ahmad Stoner)
• Don't Ask (James Madio)
• Younger members; Pockets (Isaiah Robinson)
• Too Small (Thomas Tulak)
• Finally there are twins Sooner and Later (Brian and Brett Willis).
• Other noted Lost Boys include René González Jr. Bogdan Georghe Adam McNatt and an uncredited Jake Hart.
• Tootles also appears, as an old man living with Wendy Darling who was adopted him when he was a boy.

Peter Pan

In the 2003 Cinematic Adaption the Lost Boys are revealed to be children who fell out of prams when their nurse maids weren't looking and were taken to Neverland after not being claimed in seven days. After the Darling siblings return home to 14 Darlington Street Road in London they decide to stay with the Darling family to be taken in by them with the exception being Slightly who winds up being adopted by their aunt (likely a nod to said Original Play, where housekeeper Liza adopts him after he arrives late).

Neverland

As well as Nibs (Chase Willoughby), Slightly (Brandon Robinson), Tootles (James Ainsworth) and Curly (Patrick Gibson), there is another Lost Boy called Fox (Lorn Macdonald) while instead of a pair of Twins there is only one boy simply called Twins (played by Thomas Patten)

The New Adventures of Peter Pan

In the French-Indian computer animated series The New Adventures of Peter Pan, The Lost Boys are known as the Lost Kids due to there being girls among their number. They include;

• Chubs - Medium-sized fat boy skilled at cooking, loves to eat.
• Stringbean - Tall, nerdy brunette boy, most well-read of them all and has the largest vocabulary.
• Baby - Little blond boy with big crystal blue eyes, he is the youngest in the group.
• Cynthia - Tall blonde girl with bright blue eyes, she is mechanically talented and inventive.
• Meera - Friendly and calm girl of Indian origin.
• Maya - Very sporty and agile girl, she has tanned skin and red curly hair.

Peter and Wendy

In this adaption several of the fellow child patients at Great Ormond Street become Lost Boys in central character Lucy Rose is parallel fantasy world that she slips into during her stay at Great Ormond Street (with the Twins being absent from this). Among them are;

• Rory - "Curly"
• Connor - "Tootles"
• Harry - "Slightly"
• Lewis - "Nibs"

Pan

Although there are many number of Lost Boys featured in this motion picture as well as orphanage boys only Nibs, Peter Pan's closet friend is actually named

Wendy

In this modern day re-imaging of Peter Pan a different set of Lost Boys including some girls lived with Peter with some of them returning to their families or the outside world at the end of the film. The ones who were named among many others were;

• Cudjoe Head
• Sweet Heavy
• Last and youngest Thomas Marshall (who was next door neighbor and friend to our central character's older brothers)
• All the other lost boys such as Buzzo, Toots, Nibs, Slightly and Curly end up becoming reluctant pirates after they age into Olds due to losing faith in the deity Mother and such have their agelessness revoked by her.

Come Away

In this homage to the stories of Peter Pan and Alice's Adventures in Wonderland The Lost Boys are a gang of throw-away urchins who befriend Peter and Alice Littleton. Later on accompanying Peter to Neverland pursued by Peter's uncle CJ, his right hand man Smee and their cohorts. Differing from the traditional tale is Peter Pan went to Neverland apparently by himself prior to bringing the Lost Boys while here it's the other way round. They include;

• Twins (played by Harry and Oliver Newman)
• Curly (played by Jack Veal)
• Tootles (played by Rishi Kuppa)
• Slightly (played by Alfie Hoang)
• Nibs (played by Nana Agyeman-Bediako).

Peter Pan & Wendy

In this live action remake of the 1953 animated original The group consists of both boys and girls. Alongside Nibs (Sebastian Billingsley-Rodriguez), Slightly (Noah Matthews Matofsky), Tootles (Caelan Edie) and Curly (Florence Bensberg) there are Bellweather (Felix de Sousa) and Birdie (Diana Tsoy). While Twins (Skyler and Kelsey Yates) are actually named here as Tudy and Rudy.
