David Littleton, to his sister Alice from the 2020 film Come Away
David Littleton is one of the supporting protagonists of the 2020 film Come Away. He was an adventurous child explorer who was the older brother to Peter Littleton who would become Peter Pan and favorite nephew to his uncle Captain James CJ Littleton who would become known as Captain Hook.
History[]
David is first seen with his sister Alice when Peter is lurking in the bushes spying on them before stealing Alice's stuffed rabbit and threatening to scalp it, before fleeing into the woods pursued by Alice and David.
Later on David heads to the downed boat and imagines it's full of pirates who burst out and begin battling him with David then climbing onto the boat, as he goes to reach for something that has fallen in the water he falls in just a lightning strikes the water causing him to go limp and life less.

David is essentially a proto-Peter Pan in that he is extremely adventurous, whilst also being somewhat bold and daring. This makes him something of a role model to Peter Littleton that Peter tries to somewhat emulate especially after his brother dies. From David Peter learned how to crow properly and how to be a better sword fighter. He also passes down his hand me down greenish clothing to Peter that he wears in memory of his beloved older brother along with the greenish felt hat that would've been David's birthday present that he more than likely took so he could always have a piece of his brother close to him.

- Originally JM Barre originally intended to call Pan David as a memory to his own real life deceased older brother before settling on Peter. As such in some adaptions Peter's middle name is meant to be David in honor of his late older brother.
- In some adaptions one of the main reasons Peter Pan flees to Neverland is that he is partially to fully responsible for David his older brother's death either inadvertently or in a moment of madness intentionally.
- In other adaptions David was intended to become a part of Neverland, but dies leaving spare Peter Pan to take his place by default.
- In this motion picture being he's the eldest of Jack and Rose’s children who, like all of their children, Eleanor eyes since she has no children of her own. But, what draws her to David is his intelligence, hence why she wants to finance his education and mold him into her own image.
- In this motion picture unlike David, Peter isn’t so much a knack for numbers and academics. Rather, like his dad, he is more good with his hands, hence him being able of doing a ship replica like their father. But, with David on his way out, so comes insecurities and conflict. For with having that fact of living in his brother’s shadow, so came some form of resentment and even when not in his brother’s shadow, trying to fill David’s shoes and attain the pride he was given is a challenge to Peter.
